意味
牛バエの幼虫（ウジ）をグラブといい、この幼虫は牛の背部に寄生し、皮下から表面まで貫通した穴をあけ被害を与える。北米産の皮に多いが、欧州産のものにもみられる。１枚の皮に５個以上貫通した穴のある皮をグラブハイドと称し１１月～３月の北米産原料皮に多い。寄生部をトリミングするため、原料皮の価値が低下する。南米産の皮には肉バエの幼虫による被害がみられ、この寄生部位は背部に限定されない。

牛バエの幼虫、すなわちウジを指す。グラブは牛皮の背部に寄生し、皮下から表面に至る貫通した孔を作り、表面を隆起させ、ワーブルと呼ぶ原皮損傷の原因となる。北米産の原料皮に多い。寄生部をトリミングするため、原皮の価値が低下する。南米産の原料皮には肉バエによる被害がみられる。
Larva of warble fly (Hypoderma lineatum, and bovis). The grub grows in the subcutaneous tissue at the back of cattle, perforates the dermis from the flesh side to the hair side and makes a small elevation on the back (warble damage of hide).The damage is often found on North American hide. The market value of the damaged hide decreases due to the trimming of the damaged part of hide. A similar hide damage by Cocoliomyia hominivorax and Dermatobia hominis is also found on South American hides.
