意味
植物タンニン革は、茶褐色で光りにより暗色化しやすく、低pHで淡色で、高pHでは濃色となる。堅ろうで摩耗に強く、伸びが小さく、可塑性が大であり、成型性がよい。比重は比較的大であり、耐熱性が劣る。靴底革、中底革、馬具、かばん、ベルト、革工芸などに用いられる。

主として植物タンニンで鞣した革。クロム革に比べて伸びと弾性が小さく、可塑性に富む。用途により底革、ヌメ革、クラフト（革工芸）用革などの区別があり、性質が異なる。
A leather species substantially tanned with vegetable tannin. It is featured with a less elongation and elasticity and a better plasticity compared with chrome tanned leather. There are different types of sole leather, case leather and handicraft leather corresponding to different uses.
