スムース、もみ、空打ち、型押し革の銀面に布きれ、タンポン等を用い、染料液を不規則な模様に塗布し、革に古風な雰囲気を付与する仕上げである。

色調が不規則で古代調の印象を与える革および革製品の仕上げ方法。たとえば型押しやもみ等で形成される銀面の凹凸のために、塗装液が不均一に吸収されて色調の濃淡（ツートンともいう）模様が形成される。アンチック仕上げ専用の塗装剤も開発されている。靴などの仕上げでは、仕上剤を塗布後拭きとりとバフィングで不規則な模様が作られる。こ種の仕上剤としては、主としてワックス系で、濃茶系の染料を含むものが多い。
A finishing system for leather and leather products which produces an irregular color pattern of antique impression. For an instance, an uneven topographical pattern formed on the grain by embossing or boarding etc. prevents coating agents from penetrating uniformly into the leather tissue and hence produces an irregular color pattern. Coating agents specialized for the antique finish are available in the market. Concerning the shoe finishing, such an irregular color pattern is formed by wiping or soft buffing the upper after applying a coating agent. For this purpose, a wax-based coating mixture containing deep brown dyestuff is largely used.
